Claudia Camacho's Story

My name is Claudia Camacho and I am 23 years old. In February, 2008 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer. I was treated with chemotherapy for six months at the Central Utah Clinic and radiation therapy every day for a month at the another treatment center in Utah. After those treatments were complete, my doctors said that everything looked fine, and it looked like I was healthy. Soon after, I was very happy to hear that I had become pregnant.

In July 2009 I was rushed to the hospital with pain in my lower back and pelvic area. An ultrasound revealed that nothing was wrong with my baby, and I am very grateful for that, but the test did show that I had a mass in my pelvic area. Later, a Bone Marrow Biopsy revealed the cancer had returned and it was in late stages. My life and the life of my baby are in danger.

The doctors at the Huntsman Cancer Institute gave me hope for my baby during my last visit. They say his heart is strong and he is bigger than expected, meaning his chances of survival during the first phase of strong chemotherapy are increased. An early c-section birth may be performed before my second phase of strong chemotherapy because he could not possibly survive another round of treatment.

I really appreciate all that the hospitals and doctors are doing for me and my baby, including approving me for assistance on my office visits and chemotherapy. However after my rounds of chemotherapy have been completed, I will also need a Stem Cell transplant in order to live. They have told me this procedure along with hospital costs will cost $300,000.00

My friends and family, as well as the company I have worked for, For Every Body, have set out to help me raise the money I need for the procedure, Please help if you can. I have enclosed a letter from one of my doctors to verify my illness.
